Recovering a stalled job
What to do when a project shows the Abandoned status
Background AI jobs have time limits. If the server restarts, the job queue stalls, or the AI API takes longer than expected, a job is automatically marked as Abandoned. This is detected the next time you open the project.
What you see
A recovery prompt appears with two options: Retry (re-queue the same operation) or Discard (cancel and return the project to its previous status). Your PRD content and any previously completed work are never lost.
When to retry vs. discard
- Retry — if the job failed recently and you want to continue from where it stopped
- Discard — if you want to edit the PRD before re-running, or if the job has failed multiple times
If a job stalls repeatedly, check spexsure.com/known-issues for any active platform issues before retrying.
