The 12 gap categories
What each of the 12 analysis dimensions measures
Spexsure scores your PRD across 12 structured dimensions. Each category targets a common source of sprint failure or engineering rework.
- User Roles — all user types, roles, and permission levels are defined
- Acceptance Criteria — requirements have clear, testable success conditions
- Error States — failure modes, error messages, and edge cases are covered
- Performance Requirements — latency, throughput, and load expectations are specified
- Security Model — authentication, authorisation, and data access controls are defined
- API Contracts — endpoints, request/response schemas, and versioning are specified
- Relationships & Constraints — data entities, relationships, and business rules are sufficient
- Edge Cases — boundary conditions and unusual user paths are addressed
- Definition of Done — completion criteria for complex states are explicit
- External Dependencies — third-party integrations and blockers are identified
- Scoping — out-of-scope items are explicit enough to prevent scope creep
- Regulatory Aspects — data retention, privacy, and compliance requirements are evaluated
The completeness score breakdown shows which categories are weakest. Focus your PRD editing effort on the lowest-scoring categories before proceeding to enrichment.
